Hello again, lovelies. Defintely meant it to be a more exciting day today but didn't work out. We did work first thing in the morning ( it's impressive when by 10:00 in the morning a girl of  has done nearly 3 hours of work, and you can go onto the rest of the day knowing that as far as academics are concerned she's entirely more exercised than  she would be on a school-day), then gathered up and did another try of making the television work. This time, I think we may have succeeded. Last time round the DVD player was too cheap and threatened to sxpode on us, the Hd recorder wasn't fit to handle the power charge on the HD we plugged into it and whined and hissed manically, and this time the combination of various things (so far, fingers crossed) seems fine. Can't believe that after all these month we might possibly have a fully functioning TV nd DVD but it's a definitely possibility, as we see it.
Came back by this time as hungry as voracious cockroaches and had some lunch. I am still utterly unable to make an omlette - always turn more or less into scrambled eggs but there we are, for the first time in her life even the Littles ate it, without a huge deal of protest (another box ticked). Then we were going to get going on some random afternoon walk r ecursion, but the poor Mr felt a little ill and and little squitty, so we instead all went to Mummy and Daddy's bed and played computer games and read books and slept for the whole afternoon. Poor Mr. Wondering whether it's a breif bug I caught too yesterday  or the day before rather - I thougt it was just extreme unfitness and crappitude after swimming a kilometer each day for two days, but we both felt dizzy, slightly neauseus, alternately hungry and sickened, and fall asleep abruptly in the middle of proceedings so maybe it was a small bug of some kind. Anyway, all passes swiftly. He seems to be OK now in the evening and I have further hgh hopes of the morning.
Evening dinner was 'occy' salad... Littles allowed to eat with her fingers (I have no idea why, except that it's a holiday and she seemed to be showing such a great interest in picking food up and investigating it... it's all good healthy curiosity I suppose)... Today we used the frozen baby octopus that we tried grilling initially on the barbie, and was tough - today I boiled it very gently for a long time and it was jolly tender but shrank a lot. Quite surprisingly shrunk, so a put a new batch in to boil afterwards in the same stock, but for a sorter time.... definitely much tougher. All interesting experiments.Occy salad is good though, even if some of it is a little tough. We just know now that it does indeed have to be boiled for a long time beforehand... and I don't think the bab occy is any better than big occy, they both need attention. All ticked down and noted.
Well, there's not much else. Little did good work and was good in general today (for thse reader I know are interested in such things) - she's a funny girl though. There's no doubt that there's going to be quite a lot of ... well... 'explaining' ... to do to her reasonably soon. It's entirely obvious that her likes and dislikes (entirely legitimate though I'm sure they are) are slightly... unorthodox. Not that she'll be on her own in them at all (by a long shot) but you know, it all takes a bit of grounding. Phrases you end up hearing and noticing with slight surprise  - 'eat your dinner nicely and I'll kick you' (a real incentive to polish up, it seems), 'eat my toes, and then my bellybutton, and then my ears' - (Non to anyone who will listen)... ah, the list goes on endlessly. Obviously an S&M sensual fetishist inborn, one can only hope that by the time it come to be pertinent she'll have enough sense to understand the peripheral addenda and consequences associated. Somehow, I think it won't be a problem. Oh dear, I made a real mistake a while back. She has a great love of poking my breasts (such as they are, token items), and kneeding and massaging them generally whenever she gets a chance. I tried to explain, breast are quite private things, we need to be poilite about them. There are certain parts of the body that are private - the front and back bottoms are the most private, and the breasts are next private. Bits that aren't very private are face and hands, so we use hands to greet people and say hello how are you. We don't tweak someone's nipples and shake them up and down saying 'how do you do' because nipples are private. Which unfortunatley she found FAR too amusing a mental image, and ever since has been in the habit of reaching for my  nipples and trying to shake them up and down while saying 'How do you DO' in the most plummy, staid British accent you one would be able to muster - shortly before bursting into laughter. Oh well. I guess the point is carried  however obliquely.
Ah well. Can't remember what I was going to talk about, if anything. Hillarious little online game called 'what's for Dinner' http://www.playedonline.com/game/598128/whats-for-dinner.html ... I consistently scored 'horrible' on my efforts. Absolutely abysmal. However, the Sydney Shark game definitely wins out on the addictiveness front. Lots of love to all, V xxxx

  1. She has inherited her massaging tendency from her father, surely he has own that up to you. He used to be very keen on polishing my chest when he was little, maybe slightly younger than the Non. In fact his brother used to suggest that for his birthday or Christmas we should give him some ‘pet polish’. It was OK if this was done within the family bounds but now and then he would do it when other people were present to their great surprise.
As for the ‘eat nicely and I shall kick you ‘ do you think she meant ‘shall kiss you’? it sounds like a more appropriate reward. She is quite a giggle.
Hope your squiggy tummies improve quickly, was it too much octopus or too much sea water? Whatever, not nice, but I suppose a good cuddle on a large bed is the best cure.
    Love you

  2. Poor things, seems that the bug's been circulating changing its genetics for a while now; hope you get very much better soon! Feeling sick is so tiresome and horrible. Loved the Non's views on the world; have to tell Leo about it. So sorry that I put all those things down on comments if you're going to PRINT these things; lord, I really do have to put it down on Pornflakes. It's just that it's so hard to stop linking one on another; it's probably because I have inept to stay on one track when talking or writing, keep on jumping from one thing to another. Tee hee, I remember when I was playing a game of "who pulls who's pants down first" with Leo at about that age, promptly went to kinder the next day and pulled his teachers pants down. Needless to say both he and I were seriously reprimanded. Will try to put the weekend stuff down over there then, hope I7ll have time later on- in the meantime lots of get better hugs (guffaw woofie on when Flea was small- now that's a good hobby, keep your house clean and have fun- when will mine do that?) oh and they have a book fair at school and hopped in for a couple of minutes and sighted a childrens bound book (LOVELY) of Dickens tales- does Lara have it? I was just mulling over whether to get it for ours and whether anyone would take an interest- anyway lots of love all round, XOXOXOS
