20th April 2010 (Tuesday)

Hello again there. A more interesting day today as far as we were concerned but less so on the recording things front: the Mr gave his last two lectures for a while (a tutorial tomorrow but then that’s it), the Littles got back to school (with profound glee and completely returned health), and I started dredging through the piles of unsolved paperwork and rubbish that’s piled up in the last two weeks. Now, all this is very engaging in an immediate, local, and short-term manner but not so much in the recording for posterity and entertaining manner. Littles took her echidna to school today for ‘news’ – a asked Lillian later whether she’d spoken in a loud voice or not (this is the teacher’s mandate for Lara – says very few people can hear her – I know, shocking to those who are used to her imperious demands at home but there we are) – and she said yes, though I wasn’t very sure about whether that was true or not. Anyway, she came home mightily pleased with herself. Did her usual work too – some of it was appalling, some of it was extremely good. (The appalling bit was a new ‘type’ of question in maths that she hadn’t bothered to read or understand before she scribbled something down, the very good bit was her minus cards – every minus up to 10-10 from 0 – perfect and definitely a tad faster than I would have done it.)


So there we are. My own pootlings following things up and ding paperwork are far too tedious to narrate. I think I’ll leave it as it is for today, lots of love to you all, V xxxx
