Salutations... a simple holler to signify general antipodean flotation rather than submersion (and no we haven't been going to the beach - alas - simply metaphorical). The most exciting thing today was (quite seriously): Non got off the loo today and we hip-hip horrah'd because it had been a 'hard poo' rather than a 'squidgy poo'. So nicely on the way. Otherwise, another sinew-congealing day of sitting at home, doing bits of work and artwork, unsuccessfully trying to get the Non interested in making hot cross buns, protacted meals (a respectable 25 minutes for breakfast - good for her - but a whopping 1.5 hours for a small lunch), and general being-at-home. Thank goodness it's the weekend, thank goodness she's finally getting well enough to entertain throughts of going somewhere.
In the meantime we've been watching the new school hall pop up from our bedroom window - they started building the foundations last term and over the holidays they've finished that and they've been erecting the framework of the hall. Mildly exciting to see it rise up. Mind you, there does seem to be a deal of whistling and peeping involved - ever since they've had the very big crane there there has been near-constant whistles as if it's being directed like a giant sheepdog. Funny way to control it, one would automatically assume some more modern form of comunication but I guess, if it ain't broke don't fix it and all that - seem to work fine after all.
My socks are off. The boredom has blown them sky high. To save my poor audience's hosiery from the same fate, I'll bid you all goodnight. xxxx

but you'll have to go to the end of the album for the latest pics!

Glad to see that I'm not the only one blowing my socks- and congrats on the non squidgy poo! Excellent to hear that things are on the mend. WOW 1.5 hours is quite a while there, amazing all the effort you both put in, hope she got it all down- reminds me of a small boy in japan who was always sitting on the bench for the entire play time in the park eating one onigiri quite literally one by one grain of rice- and he still does it, mother absolutely tired out of all strategies and coercing and shrugged with prairie dog eyebrows sighing "I've tried it all"- somehow with all that mass of meat and veg she's consuming in pics one can never imagine it, always seems like such a quick and healthy eater- but how does she manage it at school then? Hope it all gets a lot better soon, it must be the added stress of the bacteria. I have the luck of Leo being the "OK Nea eat it or not in 3 seconds or I'm having it" help for me now so that I don't even have to use myself as a human garbage disposal the way I used to, but as you know it took us quite a while- not speed but diversity of food- still when he was old enough it was remedied over 2 days when I kept a plate of stuff he'd refused and gave him only water for the whole time till he at last ate it in gratitude the next afternoon after crying in the hall saying " I can't go on any more PLEASE give me something to eat I can't walk" screaming at the top of his voice. But then I know another mum who tried that and the girl just went skinnier and skinnier, refused to eat anything after 3 days so fearing for her life they had to feed her what she wanted anyway. It never works quite the same. Oh about the boredom- I spent 4 hours at the beach in the morning with Nea, did some crafts with glitter and leaves and some little bobbles and flowers around the place, cleaned the house and made dinner while napping then spent 3 and a half hours in the park and sand after Leo's school- I feel as if I have( and probably do) sand even on the other side of my eyeballs. And now if you excuse me, I still have the toilet to clean- my favorite friday evening activity. Guess will post a few sand pics, turning a blind eye (well you can understand, all that sand an'all...) on the fact that everyone has had quite enough pics already of kids and sand activity. Many snogs for the weekend and hope that you all have a lovely Saturday and Sunday- oops but you ARE already saturday! Snogs, XOXOXOXXOS
