Tomorrow's Australia Day and a public holiday, we'll all be off for some activities on the Foreshore but in the meantime I think the Littles was flexing muscles and making sure of the household ropes today. After Daddymonster went to work today there was a major Testing time for Mummymonster (Non: "how disobedient can I possibly manage to be and still survive, and I wonder if I could crack that plaster on the wall there by pure Power of Screech - quite doable, possibly, it's pretty rubbishy plaster, let's give it a bash.... maybe literally... hmm....") but eventually it ended and the morning work got done. I seems that we have to have at least one flexing per week or so, otherwise things don't function well. I reckon it must be part of the duties of being a Child. However, give her credit, she's thorough in her investigations - having ascertained there was no give to Mummymonster she was Good for the rest of the day, and until going to bed remained so - then decided she hadn't tested Daddymonster so gave him a round of the same as well. Mercifully this second bout took less time to quell. Fingers crossed we've got all the boxes checked and confirmed for a trouble-free day tomorrow.

However, due to the disturbances (and due also to having no plans and no car), we (girls) had a pretty uneventful day. It was noon before we managed to finish work (what with one thing and another), so we mooched, lazed, read, coloured and sipped until 2:30 while the heat of the day subsided a little. Then to the beach - baths closed for the Monday clean. Hope they don't let in the sea-millipedes again this time. Wave jumping, sand-pushing in general, returned VERy sandy and was slightly concerned that the sand might eventually block the bath but hey we're not here for long, I don't really care. Bring it on.

Oh, MANY thanks for the lovely pics of Scott - as ever, Puss-in-Boots sweet, and lots of very comic ones of the Camel pretending to be asleep - and the Great Scott looking supremely comfortable. Talking of which, I think it's probably coming up to about the exact age that I made the mistake of just basically keeping Lara in our bed (I'm sure I've mentioned it) - fine stuff for the heavier sleeper (me by about 500 miles) but alas wore out the poor Flea rather a lot. It's very tempting, at least I found it was. (To just keep the child in bed, that it, not wear the Flea out - though now that you mention it...)

Well, I think at this point of a dull Monday evening I'll break off and let you all sit back and sip some wine. I thoroughly intend to do so. Lots of love, V xxxx
