Well, at least the day has ended very nicely. Due to the enormous difference in produce price here for 'vlaue add' for meat products if you buy things sliced up or chunky, we've taken to buying large slabs of meat, cooking them and eating them for three days or so - today was a 'cooking' day and we had a Whammer of a slab of pork. Rather odd cut, essentially looked like a HUGE pork chop with skin on but I reckon it'll last us half the week at least. All of about £6. Anywa, as usual, done on the barbie it was Yummalicious. Also entailed 0% effort from me. I got off scott-free by sitting there doing work with the Non - which (luckily for me) today she did really nicely, all the way through. So now the Non's in bed, we're nicely tiddly, and the night is young but I think we're going to take it pretty damn easy and retire early to prep up for Monday. Sounds like a rather pleasant prospect anyway.
Alas the rest of the day was rather less enjoyable. I mean, it's OK but you know. Had a few things to investigate and buy - were trying to get cover-up swimsuits for ourselves but after trawling shops exhaustively didn't quite manage, were looking for a clotheshorse and an ironing board and for various reasons ended up getting neither, were going to pick up another laptop that we'd seen but decided upon viewing that it was worth getting it through the University scheme and saving a little cash, needed a bed for the Non (eventuall) and saw a couple but not buying anything as yet... well you can imagine, it all involves a lot of shops and a lot of tedious trudging. I always feel a great sense of injustice at the situation of having to expend huge quantities of time and energy simply to enable yourself to give your money to someone else. It all seems very wrong. Even WORSE to come back having spent your time and energy without actually even having managed to give your money away! Oh the frustration of it. Anyway, such is life. We came home, very happy to be back, and thanked our lucky stars that we're bringing over all our stuff - the only things we're missing are a few peripherals, the Non's furniture and a couple of white goods (eventually). Imagine if we had to kit a whole house out!! I'd go completely bananas, really take my hat off to the Pie, must have been hell on earth.
Well, we went down to the beach after lunch as a well-deserved treat, much to the Non's delight. But alas in her usual careless way she tripped over her own feet on the way there and got a rather nasty little gash on her knee - proper little kiddy-fall one, blood everywhere. I think she was quite shocked. So it took a while to get over that and get swimming and jumping again - so another small downer. However, aparently she did very well with her new 'zoggs' bottom-buoyer (chronic problem of sinking feet), so all was well in the end. After all this, we got into the home-shower-work-dinner run and all went very well - for a nice change. Also, as a culmination of a couple of weeks of collecting good-behaviour stickers, this evening she FINALLY received Nora the Wombat. Oh, but was she pleased!! Well, so now she's sleeping soundly with a Great White, a Kermit the Frog, a Grumpy Salmon, a Bouncing Bunny, an Orangutan, and a Nora the Womabat. Bliss.

Hy Vens! Couldnt quite find the right comment place on the last one- WHat chronicles! Love them, I know I'm repeating myself. Just got a minute time, loved all the meat and fish things and the Non things, too little time to comment on everything- Nea's got a bit of a temp, it's 0 degrees outside ( unheard of ) and generally a lot of to-dos, not as much as you- I know, it's really SUCH a hassle to move it's appalling, it really took 6 months of my life and countless pennies; before I forget, which is why I wanted to just post a small snippet ( I see it's 6:46 in the morning Victoria time)
ReplyDelete- I've looked up ebay Australia and they have masses of cute girl beds, if you give me the measurements and general aura of the thing ( like, wooden, pink, white, steel, coil or foam that kind of thing)- I would LOVE to get one for Lara, and it would be along really quick- don't say no, ( oh and the cover up swimsuits too- they are a must here too during the summer, but certainly not as much as Australia)
- tell me if I can and off I go to do it. I also found "Yelp" to be really helpfull ( still do ) when I came here, and checked it out but they don't seem to have it yet, the only one I found in that area was a site called "craker"- ok of some used things but not as good as yelp, but ebay (guess you've been on that, but with a small comp I know searching the net can really be a hassle) so come on- stir everything in a pot and give me some demands PRONTO, I can send some links if it's easier. In the meantime I7ve actually done the deed- yes, a small addition canine thing will be coming around tomorrow- don't ask or comment, I've had nightmares already. Still, what is one on this world for but to punish oneself in one way or another. The kids are having a fit of excitement though and they have spent 2 days solid getting in and out of the crate I got- I said hmm, maybe not a bad idea, maybe I could crate train all three of you and a lot less hassle all round. 6 bowls, dry food, water. I'll chuck in some books for good measure. Chuckle.Anyway, will try and post some pics but since I'm not used to the camera I keep on doing some experiments which go wrong more often than not- Love you lots, XOXOXOXOS ( Hope that the teeth trouble is better Woofie, I've got about 3 gaping teeth as has Makoto, but the weight of some 6000 dollars disappearing down the pocket of Dr Lynn Do is not so attractive, so we're basically waiting for our mouths to endure the decay)
