11th April 2010 (Sunday)

Quickest of notes today – not so much of a lack of time to tell but lack of entertaining details to impart. Littles retired (for the first time since we got to Australia) unwell in the evening last night, and the Calpon and Neurofen were got out and dusted off. This morning she had quite a reasonable temperature (for her), which luckily abated quite quickly, and by this evening she was back down to under 37 very nicely. Apparently when she's ill the digital thermometer beeps out 'Lara's hot! Lara's hot!' when it's finished – and when she's better it beeps 'Lara's better! Lara's better!'. However in the meantime we've spent the day rolling about on the floor, watching Mr Men DVDs, playing games, snoozing, and reading books. Does one a world of good every now and then.
However I do think I'd mark down last night's little bout of entertaining as a success. Anna's family are extremely nice, which was probably the main contributing factor. They came at just gone 4 and only left at gone 11, which is a fair enough indication of at least moderate entertainment. Kids were great, and Lara would have played more if she weren't off colour – even as it was she joined in for a good while.
Right, that's about it. Hopefully more or less back to normal tomorrow. Lots of love to everyone, Nancy xxxxx

  1. AWWWWW.... Hope the poor Non is feeling a lot better today, you're right though- after an AGE of lets do this and that, if the sickness is nothing too serious- a good day of forced googling around the house and silent play and TV are great- something that never happened with Leo, and now that it does Nea is always far too genki to do it with him- there I go again. Nice weekend over here with Papa being actually FREE after- god knows how long, yesterday he gave Leo and me some tennis lessons at the park ( all along giving me lots of laughes and jokes about how pathetic I was, actually in a very Nancy way- after which I told him off and said right one more snide comment and no nooky for two weeks, after which he dutifully shut up)- which explains why both Mako and I are hobbling around clutching our asses in pain after sudden use of usually dormant muscles. Ouch. next weekend he's in Arizona again- sigh. Not much else- same old. School, home, homework, play, clean, you know the drill. I think I better go, they are just staring some game of "thrash anything as load as you can while screaming at the top of your voice" (very innovative and enlightening child's game ) - I think it's around time I cut in a be a really annoying parent by putting in the hated phrase OK LETS CALM DOWN A MOMENT.
Not to mention my hoover has concked up again and the floor after TWO WHOLE days of non hoovering looks like the scary horrors depicting the New York underground homeless society- sorry homeless, nothing personal. Anyway lots of love and hope the lovely Non is in full swing by now and quite a lot better- XOSXOXOXO, S
