Wednesday, and I got stuck on the bloody computers again at the school help-out. I studiously avoided this one but the other mums there were wandering about and out-avoided it, so I was morally forced into it, kicking and screaming. I really needed the whole excursion like a streptococcal infection, so much to do and no time at all. By the time I’d ordered the thousandth kid to put their legs back on the floor and look at the computer, stop poking their neighbour, read the text and copy it, remember the capitals and full stops and FOR F***’s SAKE DON’T HIT ENTER the whole time

Boring story
and it doesn’t do any good for your punctuation, understanding of computers or your self-esteem,
well by that time my head was quite spinning and I felt like a stiff drink and cursed the fact that it was only / already 11:30.
The Non did very well with her work today, finished it all before she went to school. It’s not bad really, about 1.5 hours worth of good concentration. An addition and subtraction sheet, a reading comprehension with a little story and a few questions, a page of handwriting practice, a page of random writing puzzles, and she read two books. Not too shabby. If only she were always like that. In fact, it must have been a good day in general because she even behaved herself at dinner. We had spaghetti sauce and she barely needed to be shouted at at all – in fact I think I moved her elbow from the table once, and that was it. Not even a sauce-splash to be seen, and she had seconds. Heavens to Betsy, it must be going to snow tomorrow, it’s so unusual.
The Mr seems to have had an incredibly productive day as well – I can’t remember all that he said he’d managed but it was something like two meetings, one review, the Wednesday practical with the students he got finished up at 2:30 instead of the 4pm it’s meant to be, more student directing in the lab, and several other bits and pieces I can’t quite put my finger on. Came home nice and early and I think he’s ready for an early night – as am I. Damn that reminds me, it’s my turn at the gym tomorrow so I’d better borrow the family alarm clock (Barbie from the Non’s room – our other one has gone into early retirement). Ribs still a little sore from the sit-ups yesterday, hate to think what they’ll be like when I get back.
Ah well. Got masses of work to be doing but I’m flumped. Tomorrow is another day, if I live to see it.

but you'll have to go to the end of the album for the latest pics!

Hey, wanted to comment on the last one but didn't get to it in the end- lord Ilove your posts lately (don't get me wrong- I always do- ) - no I mean that you must be (obviously are) reading and writing quite a lot, you've got your writers humor in full swing, it's BF entertaining! Thanks. Was just thinking of you yesterday (that is at 4 in the morning today ) when after a badly woken up dream (that one of my former colleagues at work's water had broke and that I had slipped on it and was covered in goo everywhere- lord, where one gets these things, I think it was because I was worrying whether I had taken the pill or not) - you needed that piece of info right- and sat in front of an almost mute TV in a freezing room for some reason watching "motherhood" some sort of film with Mrs Horse (Uma Thurm.) - longed to be a writer, had two kids but yearns to be one again and just ADORES it, not a particularly brilliant film to say the least but it was sort of reminiscent. The talent you have for that stuff is just out of this world. Oh and wanted to thank you just today YET again for the winkin and blinkin video, I don't know how many hundreds of times my kids have sat staring at it, it's so well made as well, sigh. I wondered at the comments though, mostly people seem to have a particular WB&N of their own, I can't seem to ever imagine anything better than Wendy. Which reminds me you should hear Nea singing that to herself, comedy- she got burned the other day in a frying pan accident and it's not very pretty, hope it doesn't leave a scar (don't ask) . Felt rather lucky today, was trying to sweat my head out how I was going to give 500 dollars to Leo's school, some 1000 for my tooth, take Nea to get shots for 500 and her first dentist, take Mako's poor car to a much needed oil can repair-500 dollars, and pay off Leo's train money all at once without living in the dark- things made worse when our coffee table (ugly piece of shit, sorry) that we were handed down broke- and was trying to Craigs list all sorts of things and wondering how to incorporate that one in as well when my hated noisy neighbours left a well, not very gracious but acceptible coffee table - just when I needed it- out on the street! After years with me even Makoto is getting good at spotting things and came in excited with the news sayins"come and see come and see!" I must say it was a grand day, not to mention I went for a walk with Nea wondering how I was going to make a late night trek to the shop to buy some lemons for a particular dish- when 10 blocks down another kind neighbor had put out a box of HUUUGE obviously home grown lemons infront of the house and written "Please take and enjoy!"
ReplyDelete- together with little plastic bags to help oneself with. The sun suddenly shone down a whole lot brighter and both Nea and I shouted out to a seemingly empty house " Thank you so much!" - anyway, nice day.
SOOOO impressed with Lara non, I can't BELIEVE she does all that before school- we're only just getting back to the "get ready in time and go piss clean your teeth do your hair" - to get round to any academics, all that is forced upon him after school (it's better your way, but just NO go over here) - and that seems like a jolly whole eggplant truckload full of work! Lord that kid's going to be going to university in 3 years time,
OMG it's :10 and I have to get the ribs out of the oven, Makoto has come home- have to dash, thank u SO much for the SUPER read, I love it! Piss myself. Sorry about tthe computer task, still excellent to read about and not be there though! XOXOXOXO to all, anon Pifs
