7th - 8th March (Sunday - Monday... ish)

Gosh posting these things at different times is confusing, actually almost nothing to write about from here seeing as no time has passed since the last posting but just wanted to say THANK YOU for SUCH lovely news from the Pie, so good to hear from you and I laughed my head off, have to say. Much appreciated. Kids seem to be doing rip-roaringly, excellent stuff for Leo - so impressive that he wants to go and do pottery and calligraphy rather than mindlessly kick a ball, surely you can't be too disappointed. And Nea as usual sounds formidable. Loved the auction stuff - and especially the image of you opting to hang from the ceiling by your nose rather than meet with Dr Phil, can almost see you doing that. As for the utilities... well, what can we say. We just lie back and let them take advantage of us, it seems easier in the long run. I've tried fighting back, it seems to be useless. They've beaten me, I admit it freely.

Anyway, I'll just pop this on and I think come back to things later with a little more news - this evening posting at the weekend has thrown things again - the only stuff I have to say for myself at the moment is that I've done the washing and ironing and tidied the house, which is scarcely going to set the world on fire. Littles seemed OK when I dropped her, played some ball and some rope with Lillian (yesterday's birthday girl) and some others, and didn't leap up and bawl in the middle of assembly, so I'm happy. It's library day today so we went to the library before school to try and find the librarian about the 'premier's reading challenge' they have here, but the librarian wasn't there so we just looked at the books a little - we'll see whether she manages to a) remember to take her library bag and b) choose some books (now that I've pointed some suitable ones out to her ahead of time). Who knows. She refuses to find anything sensible in the library in town, certainly - it's always me having to choose things. Still, I think that's not just her, I've seen other kids do it. Right, my exciting washing is finished so I'd better go - mind you, that's not far from the truth actually, having been using a machine that had but one setting and you had to be really careful when taking things out so that you didn't get decades of accumulated limescale and silt rubbed off onto your clothes for four years, and then one that actually put rust stains onto previously clean clothes for the last 2 months, I'm really enjoying having something that you can program, adjust the spin, put on delay or extra rinse, and which will beep nicely to let you know that the clothes are finished - it's absolute luxury, as far as I'm concerned. Lots of love to you all, talk laters xxx
