.... sorry, I just rather enjoyed our dinner of octopus and cuttlefish... I WILL try and put the recipes on the blog because I really want to do this one again, the whole family was delighted. GOSH it was good. As the Mr put it, 'If I was given that in a restaurant and ate it, I'd say, yes thank you very much I'll pay a good lot for that'. Damn I love seafood.
In cold light of day I guess it wasn't a very interesting day, as we spent most of it umpacking. Well I spent most of it unpacking (or rearranging) either the kitchen or the Non's room, and the Mr was doing battle with the internet and electronics - usual stuff - only one working telephone socket in the house, having to add endlessly to our list of cables and paraphanalia that never seem to get re-used apart from that one instance but we nevertheless keep hauling round the place (we've now got stuff from three continents chugging round the world with us but still need more each time). He did admirably, and as a result I'm now typing on one computer (on the net) while the Mr is on the other – admittedly he’s playing a game and not using the net at all but the point is, he COULD be. In fact, we could be playing games against each other on the net – in the same room – if we so wished. It’s all very happening. Oh yes.
We have been so engrossed in getting things sorted this weekend that can you believe it the Non has not done any work for TWO DAYS. Good lord. I think she thinks it’s Armageddon or something, this just never happens. Oh well, hopefully on Monday we’ll get back to normal. Plus, she should finally get her bed in the next couple of days, will be really nice to get her room more or less sorted completely. It’s pretty jam-packed in there, I have to say. Vast, vast quantities of stuffed animals. Inordinate amounts of stuffed animals, some would say. Of all shapes and sizes. If that girl doesn’t go into natural history and treck off into the wilderness at an ungodly age it’ll be a miracle.
In the afternoon as usual we went off to the Ocean Baths – really rather nice temperature today, though I have to admit it myself. I did manage to do my now-customary 1km but have to say was nearly snoozing off in the middle of it. Doing that amount for three days running on (as it were) an ‘empty stomach’ after decades of nothing but sofa and wine has been making me almost catatonically sleepy. At least that’s what I’m blaming, not yet more wine – it’s more convenient, anyway. Suffice it to say, I won’t last long. Best get going with that Octopus stuff. Lots of love to you all, V xxx
